Jimmy Savile – VALERIE SINASON INTERVIEW about disclosures made 20 years ago

VALERIE SINUSON INTERVIEW.

Some extracts

there was a point where it was thought that there were only 486 children on the abuse register. Now the government accepts that 1 in 4 adults will have been abused at some point in their lives. That is a huge change.”

“This is really different for any survivors listening now if a poilce officer doesn’t listen sympathetically and offer a believing response then something has gone wrong because the police really do have this in their guidelines now.”

“Savile was not only abusing all children with or without disabilities in group settings or in hospital settings, he was also inmvoking belief systems, doing rituals, making children believe that he had extra powers and that if they didn’t obey him they would be published in an after life.”

“There are special things in, especially, for example, Alistair Crowley that can be used to frighten children even more, but the use of cloaks, of making spells, of making threats, of threatening what will happen after death too is something that the 5 different people that spoke to me about Jimmy Savile said that he’d been part of.”

“When there is abuse by itself it’s scary enough. When there is abuse within a religious setting it is so terrifying to people. Loomk how long its taken the Ryan report of 2009 took till then to talk about ritualistic kinds of abuse children in Ireland went through at the hands of nuns and priests, so nobody can bear it when its linked to religion, but when it’s linked to religion that is not mainstream it seems to frighten people more. As if yes, abuse exists, Satanism exists, but you can’t have Satanist abuse.”

“it’s not surprising that people find these serious allegations really frightening.”

When asked about corroboration for the abuse disclosed to her-

VS: No I haven’t been in a ceremony but I’ve seen the marks on them, I’ve seen the terror they’re in and I’ve seen how they wer before such events happened and how they are when they speak about it, how consistent they are in other things they say, so that there has been no reason from a psychological point of view to doubt their capacity to give good evidence, but its the police who need to find the proper corroboration.

Satanic child rape and sexual abuse: sentence appeal dismissed

Satanic child sexual abuse and rape, involving multiple victims, and nothing is reported nationally – why?

Here are the details.

Child rapist’s jail term appeal fails

A child rapist who posed as a holy man to subject three victims to “satanic” sex abuse has failed to convince judges his 18-year prison sentence is too long.

The man claimed he had black magic powers and told the children, who were as young as 10, that if they did not submit to “religious massage”, evil spirits would remain in their bodies and their mothers would die.

The man was jailed at Leicester Crown Court after he was convicted in November 2011 of three counts of rape, one of another serious sexual offence and four counts of sexual activity with a child.

Three senior judges at London’s Court of Appeal this week rejected his challenge against his sentence, saying he had committed the crimes “under the cloak of religion” and deserved the sentence imposed.

…pedophile claims the sentencing judge misused the word “satanic”

The man had denied all the offences but was found guilty by a jury, with the sentencing judge saying he had “deliberately frightened the children” so he could carry out “satanic abuse”.

“He told the children he was a holy man and they were filled with evil spirits and that, to rid their bodies of the evil spirits and black magic, he had to massage them using an oil, otherwise their mothers would be killed,” the crown court judge said.

During the appeal, the man’s barrister, Nick Cartmell, argued the judge had misused the word “satanic” and may have imposed an excessive sentence as a result.

He said: “There is a world of difference between ritualistic abuse by a single man where he is invoking faith his victims already have and the induction of someone into a satanic cult where there is corruption, torture and far, far worse.”

A sentence of only 18 years, for raping a number of children as young as 10, and yet the defence barrister claims the children should have been tortured as well for a sentence of 18 years??? Since when is “corruption” a part of ritual abuse?

However, Lord Justice Jackson, said: “What the sentencing judge was saying was that he was using the pretence of religious ritual in order to obtain sexual gratification.

“That was a fair characterisation.

“He, under the cloak of religion or pretended religion, sexually abused all three children and took advantage of their religious faith and their trust in him and intimidated them by threatening dire consequences if the ritual was not observed.”

So, there were rituals as part of the satanic sexual abuse, and psychological threats – yet this is not being reporting as ritual abuse in the media.

The judge, sitting with Mrs Justice Thirlwall and Judge Clement Goldstone QC, concluded: “In our view, this was an entirely appropriate sentence.

“We therefore reject the suggestion that 18 years was too long or manifestly excessive.”

You Deserve… an End to Rape Culture

Dr. Kathleen Young: Treating Trauma in Tucson

Take Back the NightApril is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. On the University of Arizona campus we intensify our constant efforts to raise awareness of not only sexual violence but of the overall rape culture that supports such violence. Rape culture refers to the manner in which prevalent attitudes, norms, practices, and media condone, normalize, excuse, or encourage sexualized violence. These attitudes often take the form of victim blaming.

Just last week we held our Take Back the Night march and rally. With music, speakers, a resource fair, and an open mike survivor speak out, this was a moving and powerful event. I was so proud of all the survivors who spoke their truth and of the audience that held them with such compassion and support. It was truly an empowering and remarkable evening.

In the midst of this, we encountered a reminder of why we do what we do. A specific example of

Bipolar For Life

I’m excited to have a guest on board here at Bipolar For Life:  Ruth Jacobs, author of the upcoming best-selling novel series Soul Destruction.  Part one of the series, Soul Destruction: Unforgivable, will be released worldwide on April 29, 2013.

Ruth Jacobs no border

Soul Survivor: Ruth’s gritty, hard-hitting novel features a more-or-less close-knit group of friends who have at least two things in common: drugs, and prostitution.  So what is this book doing on my blog, which tries its best to stay focused on mental health and child abuse issues?  Probably because this group of tough customers has more than just two things in common.

Let’s read a passage from Soul Destruction: Unforgivable, and then we can ask Ruth to help us understand.

Aunt Elsie made tea and they sat on their usual white stools at the white, plastic table in the kitchen. Elsie, as always, sat facing…

Is this the Northern Ireland paedophile who got Facebook to remove posts naming him?

Known only as XY, he issued proceedings against Facebook and Mr McCloskey [Joe McCloskey] over the contents of a page entitled ‘Keeping our kids safe from predators’. The man, who served a jail sentence for a catalogue of abuse, has now been granted permanent anonymity by a judge overseeing the resolution.

It emerged during the case that he has a total of 15 convictions for sexual offences committed between 1982 and 1989.
They include six charges of indecent assault, six counts of gross indecency with a child and a further one of inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency.

He was released after serving half of a six year prison sentence, only to be detained for a further six months for breaching a condition of his licence.

He went to court after discovering his photograph and a string of threatening comments had been posted online.

In November last year, the social networking giant was ordered to take the page down due to the prima facie harassment and potential breach of the plaintiff’s human rights.

Although it was removed, a new page under the heading ‘Keeping our kids safe from predators 2’ soon appeared.

As part of a final settlement to the convicted paedophile’s legal action, Joe McCloskey also pledged on Thursday to immediately remove all references to him from online pages under his control.

Alan Kane QC, for XY, told the court: “I am happy to say the matter has been satisfactorily resolved and has been committed to writing, subject to an application in respect of the continuance of anonymity.”

Identity of paedophile: is this the right person?
Lawyers for Michael Sean Quinn, 24, claimed comments posted on anti-abuse campaigner Joe McCloskey’s personal page threaten the safety of him and his family.
Quinn, originally from Glasvey Drive, Twinbrook, is seeking an injunction against Mr McCloskey and the social networking giant to have the contents removed from the site.

He was jailed for eight years in 2007 for raping a teenage girl. Quinn attacked his victim, 15, in the city in August 2005 while she was on holiday from England. During the trial, it emerged that he later used the girl’s mobile phone to call her mother and state: “I enjoyed raping your girl.”
