Eton College has been targeted by detectives investigating an alleged ring of suspected paedophile teachers in Britain’s top public schools. A police document leaked to The Sunday Times reveals that officers set up Operation Fledgling, a full-scale intelligence-gathering investigation, into claims that some pupils at the country’s most prominent public school had been subjected to sexual abuse.
Disclosure of the inquiry will be especially sensitive because Prince Harry is a pupil at the prestigious school and Prince William, his older brother, has only recently left. The year-long inquiry, which ended in 1998, targeted known or suspected “homosexuals/paedophiles” at Eton and Wellington College, Berkshire, and at Harrow, Hurstpierpoint and five other prominent private schools.
Both Eton and Wellington declined to discuss the matter last week, but no teachers have been suspended or charged. The…

Rwanda: Police – Time Is Up for Human Traffickers
Police are closing in on leaders of a Kigali-based racket of human traffickers whose activities threaten to turn the country into a source of girls and young women sold into sex slavery in neighbouring countries and the Middle East.
Details of this racket and names of the ring-leaders emerged last week after police interviewed six young women recently rescued from sex-slavery in neighbouring Uganda.
Security agencies have categorised as “very serious crime” the problem of human trafficking in the region.
Police say they are in possession of the names of the perpetrators whose arrest will be carried out any time this week. “We already have some names and will possibly have some arrested [this week]. We plan to close investigations into that case by next week (read this week),” Rwanda National Police (RNP) spokesman Theos Badege told the Sunday Times in an exclusive interview.

Evil Warwick Spinks, dubbed the Pied Piper of Paedophiles, was extradited from the Czech Republic in November after 15 years on the run.
He should have then served the last 18 months of his five-year jail term. But when he was caged back in 1995 the law only allowed officials to make offenders serve part of a sentence before automatically freeing them.
That loophole was closed for absconders last year but it cannot be enforced retrospectively.
So officials had to free Spinks FOUR MONTHS after his recapture.

A handpicked panel of specialist judges will in future be responsible for trying sensitive cases where at least one witness is deemed vulnerable due to their age or circumstances.
The plan, to be announced today by Lord Judge, comes as children’s charities expressed concern about comments made by those involved in the prosecution of the paedophile Neil Wilson.
Wilson, 41, was given an eight-month sentence, suspended for two years, at Snaresbrook Crown Court in east London earlier this week.
Robert Colover, prosecuting, had said his young victim was “predatory in all her actions”, and Judge Nigel Peters said he had taken into account the fact that she looked older than she was.
He told Wilson: “On these facts (that were put before the court), the girl was predatory and was egging you on. That is no defence when dealing with children but I am prepared to impose a suspension.”
